Scrap quilts.  Made by hand and by machine.  Made with appliqué, piecing and a mix of the two.  Using a limited two-color palette, her signature red, white and blue, or a wildly colorful mix.  Laurie does it all.  Well.  Really well.

This is a Trip Around the World quilt Laurie's making using a Block Heads mix of her Mackinac Island collection, Lisa Bongean's Indigo Gatherings and Joanna Figueroa's All Hallow's Eve.

Today is about Block Heads - Laurie's Block 8.  It's a Nine-Patch.

The Block 8 Nine-Patch can be made in two sizes - 6" and 12" finished.  Laurie also has the instructions for an Uneven Nine-Patch block that can be made 4" and 8" finished.  The instructions for both can be found on Laurie's blog - Minick & Simpson.

These are Laurie's eight BH3 blocks - this is going to be really good.
