Welcome To Our New Website!
MAN OH MAN,
Let's all take a step back and pat ourselves on the back. This quilt was not for the faint of heart but will be an heirloom. I know my grandkids will have many memories of using this quilt for many years to come!
Week 22 – Sept 3
All throughout this QAL, I have talked about oversizing and trimming down to size. This helps with even the most accurate piecers. Little things like the thickness of fabric, and how the seam allowances are pressed and even the thickness of thread can add to the final block size varying.
This week we are going to be adding strips to the large blocks – I just used any 1” or 1 ¼” strips I had to sew around the blocks
Then trim to the correct size, I made mine 9” instead of 8 ¾”, which was easier to see on my ruler.
I can feel a sense of relief as I write this short post!! Now time to put the blocks on the design wall.
Ready to sew together and post next week.
Hope you are having a wonderful week!
