Materials Needed:
You will need the following to complete this project:
- 1 Mini Charm Pack
- 1 Fat Quarter Exterior (Linen or Crossweave works great)
- 1 Fat Quarter Lining
- (2) 10" longer zippers
- 1/2 yard SF101 interfacing, fusible fleece, or similar
- Argyle Pouch Pattern SLF2013*
IMPORTANT PATTERN CORRECTION: Some printed copies have some updates to the cutting instructions. Please refer to those here.
Paper and PDF patterns as well as kits are available in our shop at Sew Lux Fabric or ask your local quilt shop to carry the paper pattern and kit one up for you!
This project is great for Mini Charm Packs, scraps and leftover Jelly Roll strips! For this example, I am using the Laguna Sunrise collection by Sherri & Chelsi and Crossweave in Black (sku 12219 53).
This project makes two sizes - both are great for gift giving and the small size is just right to include with a gift card!
Step 1: Piece the Pouch Exterior
Sort out the Mini Charm Squares and select the prints you want to use. This is the hardest part! :)
Follow the directions in the pattern to make the different block components.
Once you've made the parts, lay them out as instructed in the pattern and then sew them together in rows are shown in the diagrams.
Trim as instructed in the pattern, being sure to leave 1/4" seam allowance from your points.
Sew the top and bottom border strips to the panel to complete the exterior front.
Adhere interfacing to the wrong side of the exterior rectangles. Add any topstitching or decorative stitches, if desired.
