Inspired by relaxing with friends on a lazy summer afternoon, porch swings, iced tea and laughter, Summer in the Country is here.  Using Back Porch by Me & My Sister Designs, this collection will be in shops in August.

12" finished block

INGREDIENTS

From Fabric A, Cut:
(2) 5” squares

From Fabric B, Cut:
(2) 5” squares

From Fabric C, Cut:
(10) 2½” squares

From Fabric D, Cut:
(10) 2½” squares

INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1: Half Square Triangles

Draw a diagonal line on the wrong side of all Fabric A squares. Place 1 square right sides together with Fabric B square. Sew ¼” away from each side of the marked line. Trim apart on line and press. Trim to 4½” square.

Make 4 HSTs.

Step 2: 4-Patches

Sew 4-patch units from Fabric C and Fabric D squares as shown. Press towards the darker fabric so seams nest.

ASSEMBLE THE BLOCK

Join block units as shown. Trim block to 12½” unfinished size.
