INGREDIENTS

From Snow (9900 11), cut:
{F} (2) 1½" squares
{K} (2) 1½" x 3" rectangles
{J} (2) 1¼" x 4½" rectangles
{D} (2) 1" x 1½" rectangles
{M} (4) 1" squares

From Betty’s Pink (9900 120), cut:
{C} (2) 1¼" x 5" rectangles
{A} (1) 1" x 5" rectangles

From Peacock (9900 216), cut:
{B} (2) 1½" x 5" rectangles
{E} (1) 1½" x 5½" rectangle
{L} (1) 1½" x 1 ½" square or Circle for Yo-Yo Pompom

INSTRUCTIONS

MAKE STRIPED UNIT

Sew the pink and teal rectangles together in stripes as shown. Press. This unit measures 4½” x 5”.
On the wrong side of (2) 1½” background squares and (4) 1” background squares, mark a diagonal line from corner to corner (set 1” squares aside to make pom poms). Add (2) 1½” background squares to corners of striped unit. Sew on the line.  Trim ¼” from the sewn line (trim line indicated by the dotted line). Press toward background.

Add a 1¼” x 4½” background rectangle to both sides. Press toward background rectangles.

MAKE HAT BOTTOM
Using (1) teal – 1½” x 5 ½” rectangle, sew (1) 1” x 1½” background rectangle to each end of the teal rectangle. Press toward background rectangles.

Join striped top and hat bottom. Press.

MAKE POM POM (PIECED)
Using (1) color 2 - 1 ½” square add a background 1” square to opposite corners. Sew on the line, trim ¼” from the sewn line (trim line indicated by the dotted line). Press toward background. Add the last (2) 1” background square to the other two opposite corners. Sew on the line, trim ¼” from the sewn line (trim line indicated by the dotted line). Press toward background.

Refer to printer friendly file for yo yo version of the pom pom.

Construct the top unit of the toboggan using the pom pom unit and (2) 1½” x 3” background rectangles. Press toward background rectangles.

ASSEMBLE BLOCK

Join units to assemble block as shown. Block should measure 6 ½” x 6 ½”. Square to 6 ½” x 6 ½” if needed.
